Support for People with Complex Lives in San Mateo

About a third of our residents seek work, but not a job. Employment must fit around day-to-day unpredictability in a medical issue, parenting arrangements, family caregiving, studying or uncertain partial employment the person wants to retain.
SVCMG is working with stakeholders across San Mateo County to launch a platform for all types of hour-by-hour labor. It is built around protections (including W-2 status), control, data and progression for people with complex lives who can't fit a traditional job.
